In tribute to Dorlyn Shaw who went to to be with her Savior on October 29, 1995.
To love someone more dearly every day,
To help a wandering child to find his way,
To ponder o’er a noble thought and pray,
And smile when evening falls- This is my task.
To follow truth as blind men seek for light,
To do my best from dawn of day till night,
To keep my heart fit for His holy sight,
And answer when He calls- This is my task.
And then my Savior by and by to meet,
When faith hath made her task on earth complete,
And lay my homage at the Master’s feet,
Within the jasper walls- This crowns my task.

Much could be written about Dorlyn, but a short composition from her own pen says it best.
For God’s elect
Life is but a doorway
Just a passage
Unto what will be.
Death is a friend
Opening the door
That we may enjoy
What God holds in store.
Dorlyn was the mother of Jimmy Shaw, my son-in-law.
